We’re getting ready for this year already. You know the shows but now its time to come up with some panels. As usual these are only suggestions, it gives us some good basis to run with. Please do not suggest we get so and so guest in this survey. Trust me I would love to be able to get ‘THIS PERSON’ but that part is not under my control. You are welcome to reach out to the DragonCon office and it helps if you have some sort of contact information for them or their agents.
Hey everyone! It’s February and we had our first full Dragoncon meeting! The Powers that Be broke down the show list and we now who will be covering what. Remember there are changes! As far as our material goes, Game of Thrones will get more attention (though we will be very sad to see it go) on the new High Fantasy Track that will encompass all things epic scale and questlike. This new track will have Tolkien, Game of Thrones, Shannara, and Narnia. Be sure to check it out! Let the director know if you have any thoughts on things to do or cover.
We also lost Outlander to the Alternative History Track. Since there are the strong time travel elements and its a stand along piece, many of the time travel shows are moving to that track. I’m sure HG Wells will rest easy now that time travel is such a fixture on the modern media landscape.
So with no further ado, here’s the show list. Bear in mind that there are shows on this list that might not have any panels or we will address them in a group panel.
My apologies for the delay all! We had some login issues but they are all worked out now! Remember you can always check in with us on our Twitter and Facebook group. We chat there all year long!
Well the schedule was set, and then we got some new guests! So some tweaks are being made. I will be posting them in the next day or two though! Thank you for your patience!
Remember the app is out and be sure to sync it often to catch those changes!
As director of this track its important for me to always bear in mind that you are the point of the track. Not the guests, not the games, not the panels, but you the guests of DragonCon. We all spend our time and love on this passion of ours in different ways. It’s important to respect each others’ interests and passions. You might not always agree with them, but appreciate that we were once the underdogs. Let’s show the world that we appreciate each others differences, be they Star Wars, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, or Once Upon a Time. Sometimes in our community those things matter more than color, religion or money. Still with a new year its a good thing to open our arms and welcome each other.
With that being said, I want to thank each of you for taking time from your vacations and spending time in the American SF/Fantasy Media track. We know there’s a LOT to do at DragonCon, but the fact that so many of you take time to come to the panels, activities, and guest panels that we do that it means a lot. Personally speaking I have received a tremendous amount of love and support from all of you and I truly appreciate that. I try hard to not take that for granted and do my best every year to come up with fun things to do and talk about. Let me know if you have any suggestions or thoughts for DragonCon’s 30th Anniversary year in 2016!
Finally, I want to also thank all the volunteers that take their time at con and are willing to work to make it fun for all of us. Remember they are doing this on their vacations or days off as well! If you see a volunteer, don’t forget to thank them for the time they are giving up so that you can have fun. My team rocks and I’m proud to have you with me each year!
Looking forward to another fantastic year in 2016!
Apologies for the delay on getting this page updated. I’ll be working to get these all set for this year. For now I’m giving you the current version of the schedule, but there might be changes in between now and the Con.
I look forward to seeing you all! Stop by the track room and say hi!
We’re on the Marquis level of the Marriott M301 and M302.
Updates to the schedule but remember there will be changes!
Here is a link to the current google doc version but I know for a fact that at least one more panel will get added.
Schedule 3.0 American SF/Fantasy Media track
Due to the wonderful announcement of Caity Lotz (coming from Arrow) we now have the added Arrow guest panels! Woot!
Please check the updates and remember there might be still more changes!
Here is the panelist application link.
Please read the Panelist Guidelines before applying,
AMSFFMedia Guidelines for Panelists
Sorry for the delay on this everyone! I’ve been dealing with some real life stuff so am a bit slower than usual. My apologies! Now, I already know that there are changes to this schedule due to some guest announcements but at least it gives you a ball park on some things.
I’m also including a few other things in this post. A link to the panelist guidelines, and a link to the panelist application. I try to keep a broad approach and will spread interested parties around to try and keep a balanced and fresh approach to the shows. An application to the panel is not a guarantee you will be on it, just so everyone knows.
It’s that time again! Time to start planning for DragonCon 2014!
This looks like it will be a big year for us! I don’t know about you but there are so many genre shows available now that I have not been able to keep up with them! This has really diversified fandom. We all used to watch the same shows since that was all that was available, but not anymore!
The shows that this track will be covering this year are:
|Game of Thrones
|Big Bang Theory
|Beauty and the Beast
||Once Upon a Time
||OUaT in Wonderland
Under the Dome
Bear in mind this list may change!
Now that con is over, I’m not sure how many will wander this way but I want to thank everyone who came out to the track and saw our wonderful guests and fan panels. We had some great responses to pretty much everything!
From feedback, it sounds like everyone enjoyed both the Drive In Heckle-athon with Super Shark (literally and on screen!) and the Gameshow of Thrones. Many of our panels were packed, which says a lot about you all! I’m always open to your suggestions! I have already decided that if we have the same room next year to re-orient the entire thing to be lengthwise. We might still have some sound issues but hopefully it will be less.
Please if you have pictures of guest panels or fan panels that were a part of the track, please send them to me! I want to set up a Gallery page here for us all to share!
While I can’t do much other than ask for specific guests, I can do something about programming for the track itself. Please feel free to write me with any suggestions!
